Parents/Carers
The Maple School is a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school for pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). We provide a nurturing, highly personalised environment where young people are supported to overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and achieve meaningful success both in school and beyond.
Our vision is simple: Learn and Thrive. Through a combination of high-quality teaching, therapeutic support, personal development opportunities and recognised qualifications, we help pupils develop the skills, resilience and independence needed for adulthood.
Every pupil follows an individualised pathway, with support tailored to their academic, social and emotional needs. We work closely with families, schools, local authorities and other professionals to ensure that every child receives the right support at the right time.
The Maple School website is the central hub for information about your child's education and school experience. Parents can access term dates, school news, newsletters, curriculum information, safeguarding guidance, attendance information and key school policies, alongside important updates from the leadership team.
The website also provides detailed information about our unique provision, including The Maple Way, personalised support pathways such as ALS, ATS, Reconnect, Re-engage and Regulate, our therapeutic offer, enrichment opportunities and our Portfolio of Qualifications. Parents can explore how learning is structured across the school, understand the support available to pupils and see how we prepare young people for adulthood, further education and employment.
We encourage families to visit the website regularly to keep up to date with school events, celebrate pupil achievements and gain a deeper understanding of the specialist support and opportunities available at The Maple School.
Prospective Parents
Please note that parents and carers cannot apply directly for a place at The Maple School. Admissions are managed through the Local Authority SEND process. If you believe The Maple School may be the right provision for your child, you should discuss this with your child's current school, SEND Caseworker or Local Authority, who can make a formal consultation request where appropriate.
We are always happy to discuss our provision and answer any questions you may have but can only do this once an initial approach has been made through the local authority.
