Performance Data and Results
Publication of performance information and data
The Maple School operates as a specialist provision, supporting pupils whose educational experiences and pathways differ significantly from those of pupils in mainstream schools. Pupils may join at different points in the academic year, attend for varying lengths of time and follow highly individualised programmes, reflecting their needs, starting points and personal circumstances.
In accordance with the Department for Education accountability arrangements, specialist settings are not included in national school performance tables and are therefore not required to publish statutory performance measures for either primary or secondary phases. This includes measures such as phonics screening outcomes, Key Stage 2 attainment and progress data and Key Stage 4 headline measures (including Progress 8 and Attainment 8). These measures are designed for mainstream cohorts and do not provide a valid or reliable evaluation of the impact of alternative provision.
We evaluate and report on our impact through a range of qualitative and quantitative evidence, including assessment information, work scrutiny, attendance and behaviour data, accreditation outcomes and destination tracking.
This approach ensures that evaluation of our provision is secure and evidence-based, rather than reliant on statutory performance measures that do not accurately reflect pupils’ progress or achievements in alternative provision.
Results
Sharing results and destination data is integral to our transparency. Recognising the need for privacy, especially with smaller group sizes often below 10 pupils, we will present whole group percentages. This practice safeguards the anonymity of individuals while still providing a meaningful overview of our collective achievements.
